Middle School Camps – Leadership Crew

This has been in the works for a while and we finally have it ready to release!  A Summer/TrackOut camp for Middle School Students. Over the last eight years,  we have seen over 7000 students!  There are some campers that have moved on and have aged out of our normal program; which is designed to serve students in Kindergarten – 5th Grade.  Many of these seasoned actors have expressed that they enjoyed the program and want to learn more!

We have never been merely a childcare provider.  Our desire to see students develop even more in the arts continues to move us farther away from that.  Our NEW Middle School Leadership Crew will allow students to continue to grow!  Based on the student’s application, we will set personalized goals and allow crew members to assist in all of the areas that we teach.  We feel this will further work towards building their self-esteem and self-confidence and prove beneficial as they move on into new phases of  life.

  • This program is by application only.
  • We only have one or two spots available each week.
  • The Program is $180/week.

See you later, not good bye.

It is with regret that we are announcing the closing of our Cary location. Cary was an endeavor of expansion that opened our eyes. It is STILL our goal to expand Right Track Academy in different areas of Wake county and the country. We believe in the philosophy that was created 10 years ago,  “building self-esteem through the arts.”  RTA’s product is great and we have seen over 6000 students and produced over 400 plays.

We will open the Cary location when the right combination of facility and staff is again available. I know that Cary will support us when that time comes. I am excited to announce that RTA Cary’s Ms. Ara will be moving over to our Raleigh location as a lead teacher. She has made a great impact on RTA, all of your families,  and will be a great addition to the Raleigh location.

See a note from Ms. Ara here:  Ara’sLetter2CaryParents

I know that driving from Cary to N. Raleigh can be a hassle, but as my wife reminds me “People will do what they want to do.”  If you are a Cary family that would like to continue your relationship with RTA,  we would love for you to make the drive!  We are willing to give you an incentive to make the trip.

Change is never comfortable and this was not an easy decision, but we know it was the RIGHT decision to make us a stronger company in the future.

A Memorial Day Note

My Granddad, Lonnie Robert Cahoon, was NOT killed in WWII but he was injured.  He was scheduled to leave Britain and land in France on June 6, 1944, but when his commander realized his group had not had the appropriate amphibious training they were delayed.  So his group landed 3 days later on June 8th.  He said it was still pretty bad.  My Granddad made it all the way to Germany.  During the Battle of the Bulge his artillery unit ran out of ammunition.  He and a few men took a Jeep across the enemy lines to retrieve more gunpowder.  He carried the sacks of gun powder on his head and loaded the Jeep they rode in on.  It wasn’t until things calmed down and he woke up one morning and couldn’t move.  After several operations he regained most of his mobility.  Fortunately my Granddad made it home but many did not.

Memorial Day was created to honor the Civil War dead.  Today we honor all that have served and died for our country.  Who knows what our country would look like without those brave men and women.  All of the RTA staff thanks you.

Memorial Day

1980ish Summer!!

I remember those last few days of school before summer vacation.  The anticipation was almost enough to give me butterflies in my stomach.

Do you remember?

  • It getting hot inside the schools because the A/C units evidently were not configured to handle 90 to 100 degree weather. (poor planning Kinston)
  • The new school shoes, Mom bought you in August, have holes in them “No you cant have new shoes you will just ruin them over summer”
  • Suffering through the last few tests of the IMPORTANT classes
  • Watching movies in Shop and Home Economics.  (what was the shop teacher REALLY up to)
  • The note passing going out of control.
  • Do you break up with your girl friend for the summer, because who knows what will happen over the summer and at 13 you cant afford to be tied down.

3 days later, YOU SAY IT, the words that you promised yourself that you would not have to deal with THIS summer . . . . I’M BORED.

Summer 1980The rest of the summer the above was me, in front of a TV with a game or the A-team.  Reciting those words, I’M BORED,  everyday to my Mom.  Sorry Mom.

Don’t be me.  Treat your kids to a summer filled with excitement and a break from reality.  Sign up today!

Tweet, Like, Pin, follow – Am I missing anything?

I remember building my new top of the line 486 SX desk top computer.  Sitting in a chair waiting for the screen to say “insert Windows Disk 5 of 7 now” and I thought that I would never get behind,  I will ALWAYS be on the cutting edge.  I knew my DOS key commands and I could rule whatever the computer could throw at me.  INVINCIBLE!!!!  OOHHH was I mistaken.  How much memory was on that 3″ floppy, 5mb?   Now it is 20 years later and I am as ignorant as the next and my technological confidence is null and void.

Well all that said would you help?  Evidently Social Media is relevant and going to stay so would you Tweet, Follow, Pin, Like and add a Review to our pages?  We believe that everyone in Wake County needs to be apart of what we are doing and would love your help and kind gestures.
